HOW DOES IT WORK?

Fees and Refunds

The fee quoted above and any associated material fee is payable via an agreed payment plan.

Domestic students can agree to pay up to $1500 in advance at any one time, whereas International students may elect to pay a higher proportion of the fee in advance. The detailed Fees and Refund policy is available in the Download section of this site, nothing in the policy is intended to limit your rights to natural justice.

Please note that listed in the policy document are “Other Course Costs” that may be applied if circumstances arise. You are advised to review this policy before applying for enrolment. If, once enrolled, Rhodes College has updated or changed the fees, then Rhodes College will undertake to notify you via email or website or noticeboard.

Credit Transfer

Rhodes College supports a policy of Mutual Recognition by recognising the AQF Qualifications and Statements of Attainment issued by other RTOs. This means that you may apply for credit for any nationally recognised components of training that you have already successfully completed.

Provided that your application meets the requirements, you will not have to complete these units again, and it may also reduce the duration of your course.

This also ensures that any AQF Qualifications or Statements of Attainment you attain whilst undertaking studies with Rhodes College will be fully recognised by all other Registered Training Organisations within Australia.

For more information regarding your eligibility for Credit Transfer, please speak to one of our Admissions officers.

ESOS Framework

Training organisations that appear on the CRICOS (Commonwealth Register of Institutes and Courses for Overseas Students) Register are governed by the ESOS (Education Services for Overseas Students) Framework. This encompasses the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act 2000 and the National Code of Practice for Registration Authorities and Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students 2018. These laws are in place to protect overseas students, and to uphold high standards of education within private Australian education institutions. For further information please refer to the following website:
Regulatory-Information/Education-Services-for-Overseas-Students

Students are assured of a quality education and a high standard of service while studying at Rhodes College.

The ESOS framework protects students rights, including the right to:

  • Sign a written agreement with your provider before or as you pay fees, which sets out the services provided, fees payable and information about refunds of course money. You should keep a copy of your written agreement.
  • Get the education for which you have paid. The ESOS framework includes consumer protection that will allow you to receive a refund or to be placed in another course if your provider is unable to teach your course.

The ESOS framework protects your right to know:

  • How to use your provider’s student support services
  • Who the contact officer or officers are for overseas students
  • If you can apply for course credit; and when your enrolment can be deferred, suspended or cancelled
  • What your provider’s requirements are for satisfactory progress in the courses you study
  • If attendance will be monitored for those courses
  • What will happen if you want to change providers
  • How to use your provider’s complaints and appeals process.

The ESOS Legislative Framework incorporates the:

  • ESOS Act 2000
  • ESOS Regulations 2019
  • ESOS Charges and Levies Acts
  • The National Code 2018

Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)
A CoE is issued for the expected duration of studies. This is the time it will take for you to complete your program of study while studying full time.

If you are unable to complete your program of study within the duration as stated on your CoE, your visa will only be extended for the following reasons:

  • Compassionate or compelling circumstances eg illness where a medical certificate states that the student was unable to attend classes or where the registered provider was unable to offer a pre-requisite unit.
  • The registered provider implementing its intervention strategy for students who are at risk of not meeting satisfactory course progress.
